A.JAFFE has a rich history dating back to 1892. It was in this year that Abraham Jaffe first set up shop in Manhattan, on Maiden Lane. At just 26 years old, Jaffe decided on his future by focusing his talent for creating stunning engagement rings. The diamond rush of the time was changing the look of late Victorian rings. Even back at this time, the shift to mass production was beginning. More rings were being mass-produced and the art of handcrafting jewelry was beginning to fall to the wayside. 

Jaffe, however, was not one to compromise on quality and vision. He remained true to his craft and continued making each piece by hand, a practice the company still adheres to, today. 

With a blossoming business, Jaffe pioneered the move to west 46th Street in New York City, contributing to spearheading the area as a future world-famous Diamond District.

Meticulously Crafted One Piece at a Time

Each A.JAFFE ring is handcrafted through a scrupulous process. In the planning stage, designers work full-time on sketching out their vision. Following this, a 3D computer rendering is made of the design in order to fine-tune minute details for structural integrity and beauty. A wax model is constructed from the design and the ring is then cast and burnished.

 A.JAFFE rings are then set and hand polished in a six-stage process that takes over 80 hours to complete. Each ring is constructed to be less porous and therefore more dense than normal industry standards stipulate. This results in pieces that are truly solid and substantial in construction; they are built to last a lifetime. 

A.JAFFE rings are also known for their signature shank and quilted interior. The signature shank was patented by Jaffe himself and allows your ring to resist movement on your finger, always remaining upright with the diamond in full view.
